Meh. Booking had been messed up so we got a twin instead of a double. Staff were helpful enough and sorted it out, however.
No air con in the room, and some utter nonsense on the wall about how that was a good thing to always have the wrong temperature, apparently. We left the window as open as we could all day on a couple of cold autumn days, and the room was still stuffy when we returned at the end of the day. Leaving the window open at night is also not an option if you have any intention of sleeping, given the general Glasgow noise. Just give us the air con controls please.
Worst breakfast of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Absurdly tiny plates, terrible coffee, and poor choice. It seems strange to have a “full breakfast” option when there’s barely any of the items you’d expect at a full breakfast - especially considering how much they charge for it. The strange pancake machine doesn’t make up for that.
It’s incredibly overpriced for what it is.
There was supposed to be something clever in the lift, (“scan your room key for a surprise” or something like that) if you scan your room key. I guess it’s supposed to take you to the correct floor automatically or something? It didn’t work.
We stayed on a night when there was a gig on at the Hydro. Be aware of this because the menu goes down to pizzas only. They had 1 gf pizza base left which isn't much use for a family of more than 1 coeliac. The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful but there was in no way enough of them and it was very busy. Rooms were really nice and it's a great location. Not a place to stay if u have food intolerances tho.
Very clean well laid out rooms. Seamless check in and out. The staff were very helpful.
The room had everything we needed. The bathroom was stocked with hand soap and body wash.
Our phones easily connected to the TVs so we could play our own music.
The moxy we stayed at was right next to the OVO so we were able to nip over without even having to take coats which was brilliant so we could enjoy a night of dancing without carrying out costs around.
When we came back the bar was buzzing. A fantastic atmosphere and I will definitely be back to stay again!!!!
If you're having an event at SEC I can't imagine a better place to stay. The bed is comfy, form a bit tight, but all you need is there. Reception relaxed but the lobby and bar area are just awesome. Bar staff, top! I highly recommend this place..
Very social and tailed towards young people. Overall good but disappointing breakfast, I stayed for 4 nights and the pastries weren't fresh on any of those days. Limited options for breakfast and I was bored after the first day. I unfortunately wouldn't return because of this, but rooms itself was great, clean and comfortable and staff were great!
Great stay. Room was small but perfect. Bed was comfy. Location was good. Breakfast was top notch. Would definitely recommend.
This place was located in a very dodgy area,
The overall hotel has a nice atmosphere and aroma to it. The staff were very young and inexperienced, but their kindness and good gesture made up for that, the rooms it's self were amazing a Morden classic with mood lighting absolutely loved the room. The beds, however, were awful. The sleep was terrible, and the mattress was uncomfortable. The breakfast was horrible. The sausages were nice, but the scrambled eggs were gritty and sweaty it was like eating sandpaper. The hot chocolate was decent. But other than it was a decent one night stay. I would only recommend if you only stay just for a night to relax and hit the road again
Great spot next to the OVO if you're going to a gig. Bar area is really nice. Rooms are compact but comfortable however if you move the light goes on! Don't eat here as food was horrendous! Dreadful pizzas and inedible nachos both done in a microwave. Service at the bar was also really poor. Huge queues and very very slow. Probably won't be back as plenty of alternatives in the area for both SECC and OVO.
